Hi! I’m Nora. I’m the founder of a womenswear brand called Enketta. Welcome to my Substack, super creatively titled, “(How I’m) Building Enketta.” 🤓
Enketta is based and designed in the NYC Garment District, and I started working on it in early 2024 after a long stretch of circling the fashion industry doing internships, production gigs, side projects. I’ve always loved clothes, styling, and designing, and discovered my adoration for garment cut & sew, trim factories and production along the way. Starting Enketta felt like finally stepping into something I’d been orbiting and prepping for for years.
This Substack is where I’ll share a peek behind the curtains to the gritty backstage of building a fashion brand: things I’m figuring out, decisions I’ve made, things I wish I’d known, and how I’m learning to run a business while still thinking like a designer.
This isn’t a brand newsletter. You won’t find product launches or polished marketing copy here. Enketta is its own world, and I want it to stay that way. But if you’re curious about how a brand gets made - from naming it, to finding fabric, to navigating development through sampling - this space is for you.
